HEART OF HOUSTON: April playgroup
Mondays, April 2026
Available spots
Service Description
This Parent-Infant playgroup is guided by RIE (www.rie.org) principles based on respect and trust. We meet on Mondays at Heart of Houston. These playgroups are an opportunity for parents to gather in a safe, supportive environment with their little ones. The classes are for a parent/ caregiver and their baby (2 months/ babies on backs to rolling over/emerging crawler). Another phrase for love is space and time! We live in a world that's always rushing. Our infant's movements invite us to slow down. Join us in a slow paced, intimate group of 6 parents and their infants to gather, observe, discuss and reflect on the natural unfolding of infants. - What are they showing us? - What can they already do? - What are they getting ready to do next? - What are they communicating? - How are they learning? and so much more.... Rhythm of these playgroups: - Check ins/ warm ins - Observe the babies moving, exploring and delighting in their own abilities - Discussing our observations, thoughts, joys & challenges - What can we take home to practice, what can we leave behind? With each class we walk away with: - Curiosity and growth in our awareness & understanding of our babies - Cultivating a responsive approach by showing up for babies with presence & pause to understand their needs. - Reflecting on how we could better understand their cues and - Developing trust in their abilities. Join a community of parents who gather weekly in a safe, compassionate & supportive environment. Find support and confidence in your parenting journey!

Playgroup Policy
1. We request bare feet or socks only in our playgroups to offer a safe space for our little ones. 2. Parents, please bring all items for the care and well-being of your child (diapers, bottle, water, etc). I will provide all the play materials and a safe space for your child to explore. 3. All families contribute towards creating a safe space for the group. If you or your child is sick and could be contagious, please take time to rest and recoup before you are safe to join again. 4. I request for you and your partner/ caregiver to be wholly present during the playgroup. Avoiding scrolling on the phone or texting will contribute to the respectful safe space. This is your time together with your child; relax, observe and be wholly present. 5. Infants and toddlers have an instinctual desire to mouth objects to support their sensory exploration, there will be disinfecting wipes to wipe the toys down if that makes you comfortable. Understand that there will be scenarios where multiple infants/ toddlers may mouth the same object (before you wipe it down), this is developmentally appropriate - please act according to your comfort level with grace and respect for the group. We are always modeling for our children who are continuously learning. 6. RESPECT is the guideline for our playgroups. Respecting each child as a competent & capable being, on his/her own timeline and respecting each family and the place they are at on their parenting journey. We will hold space for all feelings and growth with respect and compassion. 7. Once you have signed up and paid for the playgroup class, your spot is confirmed. There are no refunds for a missed class but we can try and accommodate you for a make up which will be subject to availability of space, Please request for one via an email. 8. In these weekly gatherings, we grow in our observations, understanding and reflections. This playgroup is continuously growing and evolving and we hope you continue to grow with us in community, support and respect. PARENT AGREEMENT: By signing up to participate in the Parent-Infant Guidance Classes, I am agreeing that I or my partner, or both, will be present each time we bring our infant to class. Neither the facilitator/s nor El Nido can assume responsibility for the safety of my child, and that I will not hold El Nido or its staff responsible for any event. I confirm that I have read through and that I am in agreement with the guidelines in this policy.
