A 5 week session, Mondays: June 2nd-June 30th for beginner crawlers - cruising.
Service Description
"Another word for love, is time" - Magda Gerber Join me in a parent-infant playgroup guided by Magda Gerber's respectful caregiving principles of RIE. To learn more visit www.rie.org. (This is a 5 week session with classes every Monday from June 2nd - June 30th. These playgroups are for a parent/ caregiver and their baby who are just beginning to crawl - early cruisers. (Moms with babies younger than 6 weeks are most welcome to sit in). If this is your first time experiencing a playgroup, please choose the "First trial class" option for you and your little one. What will you take away from these playgroups? - Respecting baby from the start as a whole human, capable and competent. - "Communicating with baby" - we always let babies know what we are about to do with them before we do it. In time, baby begins to anticipate and then participate. - Understanding an infant's intrinsic desire to move & explore. - Understanding independent play and the value of open ended, passive toys. - Caregiving times as times for connecting with baby - "Being with baby" - relationship building right from the start - "Time to slow down and observe" - time together with your baby, to slow down and really observe how your baby is moving, exploring & communicating. - "Community" - these recurring playgroups offer a sense of community for parents and a community of peers for your baby. Welcome to our playgroup for infants and parents to find community, play and support!.

Playgroup Policy
1. We request bare feet or socks only in our playgroups to offer a safe space for our little ones. 2. Parents, please bring all items for the care and well-being of your child (diapers, bottle, water, etc). I will provide all the play materials and a safe space for your child to explore. 3. All families contribute towards creating a safe space for the group. If you or your child is sick and could be contagious, please take time to rest and recoup before you are safe to join again. 4. I request for you and your partner/ caregiver to be wholly present during the playgroup. Avoiding scrolling on the phone or texting will contribute to the respectful safe space. This is your hour with your baby: relax, observe and be present. 5. Infants and toddlers have an instinctual desire to mouth objects to support their sensory exploration, there will be disinfecting wipes to wipe the toys down if that makes you comfortable. Understand that there will be scenarios where multiple infants/ toddlers may mouth the same object (before you wipe it down), this is developmentally appropriate - please act according to your comfort level with grace and respect for the group. We are always modeling for our children who are continuously learning. 6. RESPECT is the guideline for our playgroups. Respecting each child as a competent & capable being, on his/her own timeline and respecting each family and the place they are at on their parenting journey. We will hold space for all feelings and growth with respect and compassion. 7. Once you have signed up and paid for the playgroup class, your spot is confirmed. There are no refunds for a missed class but we can try and accommodate you for a make up which will be subject to availability of space, Please request for one via an email.
